Payment can be made by credit card only. VISA, Mastercard, and AMEX are accepted.
Participants are responsible for attending or reviewing the session and completing short manageable assignments.
There are no specific prerequisites for a course. Participants are expected to have a general knowledge of health care and meet a descriptor under the course Intended Audience.
The website will be updated with the next term’s offerings as soon as they are available for registration. Please check back for updates.
All courses are hosted by NIHI and led by an industry expert. Sessions are live and are recorded. Participants can access recordings and complete assignments at their convenience.
The live session format involves expert-led presentations, group discussion and short activities.
A combination of questionnaires and short assignments based on the content of the session are required to obtain the microcredential.
NIHI uses Webex to host the live sessions. A meeting link will be sent out 1–2 days prior to the start of the course. The link is the same for each session and will also be sent prior to each session. You can join through a browser or download the Webex app. It is recommended you sign in 10 minutes prior to the session to test microphone and speaker. It is also recommended you wear a headset for the best audio and speaking experience.
Please email the course coordinator that you will be absent. All live sessions are recorded. An email with a link to the recording will be sent to each participant. Participants who miss will also be responsible for completing the session questionnaire and returning it to confirm their learning of the session content.
A link to the session recording portal will be sent to each participant. No password is required. The link is the same for each session recording and is emailed out shortly after the session.
Homework submission is done through email to the course coordinator.
The homework is reviewed for completion and taken up in class. The intent of the homework is for self reflection and personal application.
The post session materials will be sent out within after the session.
There will be Q&A time during each session. You can ask directly through the mic or use the chat feature.
Please email the course coordinator with any technical issues needing resolution. It is recommended that participants arrive early to each session to test out their connection.
The final deadline for the completion for all course requirements is 2 weeks after the course finish date.
It takes approximately 4–6 weeks for the microcredential to be issued out to all participants who met the course requirements. McMaster University Continuing Education uses BCdiploma technology to issue certified credentials. Please check your email and/or spam folder for the notice.
All participants will have 2 weeks access to course materials after the course is completed. If a participant requires access for a longer period, please send a request and accommodations can be made.
